HOMEMADE RACK-O NUMBER GAME

I was looking to buy the game Rack-O and could not find it.  My son and I tried a few things and came up with this homemade version that is just the cost of clothespins and a few paper plates.

First, we numbered clothespins from 1-60. You want to make sure that only one side is numbered.  We decided to write the numbers on top of each other for easier viewing.
Then, we took 4 heavy duty paper plates and drew 10 lines evenly spaced across the top half.
We put a star on the first line and drew an arrow to show start to finish.  The lower cards start at the star.

We put the clothespins in a small basket where the extra clothespins would attach easily. I thought a coffee can might work here, too.

Instead of dealing cards to start the game, each player draws one pin at a time and clips it to their plate starting at the star until you have ten.

We clipped one pin to the basket to start.  The first player has the option of taking the pin on the edge or drawing one from the basket.  Each player either takes the last pin placed on the basket or draws one to start their turn.  A pin must be discarded each turn.

You can play this game with 2-4 players. This game is ideal for kids between 5-10. The object of the game is to get your pins in ascending order from low to high across your plate.  A player calls Rack-O when they have this completed.
